Shoppers and passing motorists were left shocked this afternoon (Thursday 17 July) after a woman, believed to be in her 50s, drove off a bridge near Canal Walk\u2019s Ratanga Road exit, adjacent to the Crystal Towers Hotel in Century City, Cape Town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emergency services responded swiftly to the call and were on the scene shortly afterwards, and the woman was treated before being transported to a nearby hospital. She was reportedly in a stable condition at the time of her transfer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Canal Walk\u2019s centre management confirmed to TygerBurger<\/em> they were investigating the incident. At the time of posting the cause remained unclear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe are looking into what happened,” a spokesperson said, “but cannot comment further until we have more information,” a spokesperson said. “No other vehicles were involved and she was the only occupant in the car.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Further updates will follow as more details become
