The 10th edition of the J-Bay Wind Farm MTB Classic & Trail Run takes place on July 19, once again proudly sponsored by Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This sporting event offers athletes the unique experience of racing against the backdrop of the wind farm’s striking turbines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s a celebration of both the thrill of mountain biking and trail running, as well as a reflection of the sponsor’s commitment to environmental stewardship and clean, renewable energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Otto Fourie, Site Manager at Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm, said, “We’re excited to continue our support for this beloved local event, maintaining our role as the title sponsor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emphasising the Wind Farm’s ongoing commitment to community wellbeing and resilience, he added, “While the race route has traditionally passed through the wind farm, we stand in solidarity with our neighbouring farmers and support the precautionary measures taken to safeguard livestock from the ongoing risk of Foot and Mouth Disease. This year, the event will remain in close proximity to the Wind Farm, offering the same iconic landscape, while avoiding direct access to the site.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a key component of the much-anticipated J-Bay Surf Festival, this sporting event caters for various levels of fitness and skill, offering multiple MTB distances \u2014 60km for the competitive riders, 30km for the intermediates, and a 10km route for families and casual riders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, a 10km trail run and a 5km fun run will welcome runners of different abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female competitors in each distance category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
