A 32-year-old
\nsuspect was arrested in Komani by a multidisciplinary police task team for
\ntransporting abalone worth thousands of rands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police
\nspokesperson Captain Namhla Mdleleni said the suspect was arrested by the crime
\nintelligence, Mlungisi crime prevention, K9 and public order police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMembers
\nacted upon information of a vehicle coming from East London and quickly
\nresponded. Abalone to the value of R184 950 was recovered and the suspect was
\narrested for two counts,\u201d said Mdleleni. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She
\nsaid count one was for possession of abalone and count two was for contravening
\nmarine living resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The
\nsuspect will appear before the Komani Magistrate\u2019s Court soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Acting District Commissioner Brigadier Zuziwe Magqashela commended the police for the
