Jet-setting
\nDanish paddler Susan L\u00fctzner will tick another South African canoeing race off
\nher bucket list when she takes on the Fish River Canoe
\nMarathon on October 7 and 8 in a K3 with her Dusi partner Loveday Zondi  and Rod Penaluna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The
\nFish River Canoe Marathon will start near Hofmeyr on the Grassridge Dam and end
\nin Cradock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u00fctzner started paddling late in life and her new passion has seen her recently
\ncomplete the Sella Descent in Spain before returning home to contest the
\nEuropean marathon championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was while racing the Berg River Canoe Marathon that she struck up a
\nfriendship with Gauteng-based paddler Loveday Zondi, a mutual admiration that
\nled to them completing the three-day MyLife Dusi Canoe Marathon together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u00fctzner quickly became aware that the Fish Marathon was held in very high
\nregard in South African paddling circles and added it to the list of iconic
\nglobal paddling events she wanted to take part in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have never paddled a K3 before so I am very excited,\u201d said L\u00fctzner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cI know that I will be in very safe hands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penaluna is a veteran of 23 Fish Marathons and will anchor the K3 journey down
\nthe 82 kilometres of irrigation water that makes up the Fish Marathon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u00fctzner will meet up with Zondi at the Ponte de Lima in Portugal where they
\nwill race the Masters Cup Marathon races together, and will also race the
\nLiffey Descent in Ireland alongside a number of familiar ex-pat South African
\nlike Swedish-based Mark Ussher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fish Marathon annually attracts the world\u2019s biggest gathering of the unique
\nthree-seater craft that originated in South Africa, and provide a popular,
\nsocial way for experienced paddlers to introduce newcomers to the Fish
\nMarathon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
