When learners arrived at school on October 11, they opened the doors to their newly revamped Physical Science classroom at Union High School in Graaff-Reinet which has been described as a visually stimulating high-tech space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recently refurbished classroom was unveiled to learners and staff at the start of the fourth term and, going forward, will help create many a \u2018wow moment\u2019 in education for Union\u2019s learners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the school\u2019s Physical Sciences classroom and laboratory was decades old, a project was initiated at the start of the year, to create a classroom that was not only visually stimulating, but designed in such as a way that learners would want to learn and where demonstration and practicals can be done with ease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Union\u2019s Governing Body Vice Chairperson, David Langmead said, \u201cOur dream was to convey the study of chemistry and science with as much enthusiasm as possible. It is so much easier with the right tools, technology, and infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat we now have is a visually stimulating high-tech space, where we can place special emphasis on experimental learning, enriched by media and electronic support.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The classroom is a space learners want to be in and it is light, embracing, crisp, and colourful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The space celebrates the spirit of science and chemistry, the cobalt blue, the flame of the Bunsen burner, the array of the periodic table, and the endless chains of chemical compounds.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is geared perfectly for practical demonstration. This is further complimented by an interactive digital teaching screen with excellent audio features.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This classroom has placed Union\u2019s teaching space at the edge of where education is going into an exciting future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feedback from learners and staff has been extremely positive and all are tremendously excited about the new addition to the school\u2019s campus.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
