The current assistant coach of the University of Pretoria, Nkululeko Malgas, has been called for the national u\/23 team as a video analyst for the two Totalenergies u\/23 AFCON Qualifiers against Togo. <\/p>\n

\n

The experienced and highly acclaimed Butterworth-born Malgas has been in the coaching business since 2002 where he began as an assistant coach at SAB Regional League side Roaring Tigers FC. <\/p>\n

\n

The former Eastern Cape u\/21 SAB team member said he is grateful to TUKS for releasing him while things are tough at the Motsepe Foundation Championship Log Standing. <\/p>\n

\n

\u201cA chance to work with the national team is something big for any coach but more than anything, I want to thank TUKS for letting me go during this time of the season. We are sitting two points behind log leaders in the league with a big game this coming weekend,\u201d said Malgas. <\/p>\n

\n

\u201cNevertheless, this is a big opportunity for me especially facing a team like Togo home and away in these qualifies. We have to go through these games and book a place in the u\/23 Afcon Tournament in Morocco.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n

Malgas will be working alongside South African u\/23 head coach David Notoane as the team departs for Togo on Thursday, October 20, for the first leg of this qualification fixture. The team will return on October 25, and continue with the camp until October 30, for the second leg. <\/p>\n

\n

The Walter Sisulu University Football head coach is currently in camp with the team at SAFA Technical Centre in Johannesburg. <\/p>\n

\n

Malgas, who holds a CAF A and UEFA Basic Licenses will be looking to use his skill and knowledge gained from the historic 2019 TS Galaxy win of their first inaugural trophy, the Nedbank Cup. He was part of the TS Galaxy Technical Team led by former Orlando Pirates defender Dan \u2018Dance\u2019 Malesela.<\/p>\n
