A 41-year-old farmer from Aberdeen has been arrested for his
\nalleged involvement in several serious criminal cases such as human trafficking
\n(five counts), rape (five counts) assault with intent to cause grievous bodily
\nharm, intimidation, and child labour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola
\nNkohli, a task team from the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual
\nOffences Unit (FCS) in Graaff-Reinet made a breakthrough after their extensive
\ninvestigative work uncovered several cases of human trafficking and rape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said this emanated from a case of rape that was opened in
\nFebruary this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe investigation led to the arrest of a man from Aberdeen,
\nwho was linked to at least five cases of human trafficking and rape between
\n2020 and 2023 in the Eastern Cape and other provinces,\u201d said Nkohli. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the suspect is due to appear in the Aberdeen Magistrate\u2019s
\nCourt today, July 5 on charges ranging from human trafficking to child labour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
