If you are looking for a weekend getaway, a day trip to a
\nnearby town or an adrenaline adventure, then Gansbaai may just be the
\ndestination for you. Gansbaai tourist businesses put their best foot forward
\nlast week to welcome local media and social media influencers to spread the
\nword that Gansbaai is open! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This forms part of the \u201cWe are open\u201d campaign recently
\nlaunched to encourage domestic travel and kickstart this important part of the
\nlocal economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour of Gansbaai on 1 September started at the tourism
\noffice, where visitors were treated to a hot cup of coffee from the newly
\nestablished Raging Goose Coffee, situated opposite the Spar entrance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group then headed out to Pearly Beach and celebrated the Pearly Beach campsite\u2019s 10th birthday. Fynbos Deck then treated visitors with freshly
\nbaked snacks to enjoy with their beautiful view over the ocean, while a
\npresentation on Pearly Beach horse trails was given.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the highlights of the day was a visit to the African
\nPenguin and Seabird Sanctuary, where visitors met the local penguins being
\ntreated at this facility and were given an overview of the work being done to
\nconserve this endangered penguin species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Great White House, learners of Gansbaai Academia, who
\ntake part in the Dyer Island Conservation Trust Environmental Education Group
\n(Deep), showed off their dance moves to the beat of Master KG\u2019s \u201cJerusalema\u201d,
\nand at the Gansbaai Harbour a snack platter with fish, calamari and chips was
\nserved at Gansbaai Vismark, while the local geese showed up for a photo
\nopportunity. Ivanhoe Sea Safaris gave a presentation on how they are preparing
\nto open up and operate under Level-2 lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Blue Goose restaurant dished up a mouth watering lunch
\nat its new premises in Hope Street, and coffee was served at Coffee on the
\nRocks in De Kelders, where  Overlandy Adventure Tours and Fatbike Tours
\ngave an overview of the adventures they have on offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
