Vertel vir ons in kort waaroor gaan jou nuwe boek?<\/strong> Kies-jou-avontuur
\n2: Die gevaarlikste boek op aarde<\/em> gaan oor Gretha, \u2019n jong tienermeisie wat
\nby haar pa, stiefma en ouer stiefsuster woon, terwyl haar eie ma oorsee werk.
\nN\u00e1 \u2019n onderonsie probeer Gretha haar stiefsuster se gunstelingsprokieboek
\nskeur, maar dan word sy en haar beste vriend, Hannes, na die koninkryk van
\nFantastori\u00eb geteleporteer. Daar vertel die Towerspie\u00ebl hulle dat hulle slegs
\nterug huis toe sal kan gaan, indien hulle vier spesiale legkaartstukke vind.
\nHulle ontmoet baie sprokieskarakters, maar die meeste is glad nie dit wat
\nGretha kleintyd vertel was hulle is nie. Die sprokiesw\u00eareld is \u2019n gevaarlike
\nplek en Gretha sal slegs met die hulp van die leser veilig by die einde kan
\nuitkom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vervolg dit op kies jou avontuur 1?<\/strong> Kies-jou-avontuur
\n1: Die gevaarlikste speletjie op aarde, Kies-jou-avontuur 2: Die gevaarlikste
\nboek op aarde<\/em> (April 2021) en Kies-jou-avontuur 3: Die gevaarlikste
\nfliek op aarde<\/em> (Junie 2021) volg nie op mekaar nie. Dit is drie losstaande
\nstories met verskillende karakters, maar natuurlik is al drie boeke aksiebelaai
\nen propvol hope avontuur, so die lesers wat die eerste boek geniet het, sal die
\nvolgende twee beslis ook in die hande moet kry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waar het jy opgekom vir idees vir die nuwe boek?<\/strong> Van
\nkleins af al hou ek van sprokies en stories gegrond op sprokies. Ek het eers op
\ndie titel van hierdie boek besluit en toe die idee gekry om sprokies in die
\nstorie te gebruik. Ek het redelike goeie kennis van sprokies, selfs die minder
\nbekendes, maar ek moes steeds navorsing doen. Ek het begin deur Marita van der
\nVyver se Die Volledige Sprokies van Grimm<\/em> te lees, toe kyk ek die Nippon
\nAnimation-reeks Grimm\u2019s Fairy Tale Classics<\/em> op YouTube, daarna het ek
\naanlyn opgelees oor Hans Christian Andersen en Charles Perrault se sprokies, en
\nlaaste het ek die Arabiese sprokies Duisend-en-een-nagte<\/em> nagevors.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verduidelik die skryfproses van die boek. Het jy dit in
\nSuid-Afrika geskryf?<\/strong> Ek het hierdie boek in Saoedi-Arabi\u00eb gedurende die
\ninperking geskryf, maar die derde boek in die reeks, wat in Junie vanjaar
\nverskyn, het ek in Oktober en November 2020 in Suid-Afrika geskryf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wanneer is die boek beskikbaar?<\/strong> Kies-jou-avontuur
\n2: Die gevaarlikste boek op aarde<\/em> sal van 20\u2009April af in alle
\ntoonaangewende boekwinkels asook aanlyn beskikbaar wees. Dit kan nou reeds
\nbestel word by Loot, Graffiti Boeke, Uppercase Books en enige ander boekwinkel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ek sien die boek het \u2019n klomp verskillende eindes en die
\nleser kan kies watter einde hy\/sy wil h\u00ea. Hoe werk dit?<\/strong> Aan die einde van
\ndie meeste hoofstukke moet die leser die karakters help deur \u2019n keuse namens
\nhulle te maak. Indien die leser die verkeerde keuse maak, kan die karakters
\nhulle dalk in vreeslike gevaar vasloop en dan een van die meer as 30 eindes van
\ndie storie bereik. Hierdie soort boek werk soos \u2019n speletjies waar die speler
\ngereeld game over<\/em> beleef, maar net weer oor kan begin. Dit beteken
\nentoesiastiese lesers kan hierdie boeke oor en oor lees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vertel van die karakters in jou nuwe boek. Wat het elkeen
\nvan die karakters inspireer? <\/strong>Gretha, die hoofkarakter, is pas ho\u00ebrskool toe
\nen terwyl haar eie ma oorsee werk, woon sy by haar pa, stiefma en stiefsuster,
\nSybil. Die feit dat haar pa se nuwe vrou en Sybil baie gaaf met haar is, verwar
\nGretha, want sy het in sprokies geleer dat stief\u00adma\u2019s en stiefsusters aaklig
\nis. Boonop voel dit vir Gretha asof sy haar ma in die rug steek. Haar beste
\nvriend, Hannes, is \u2019n normale tienerseun \u2013 iewers tussen kind en jongman. Hy
\ngee baie om vir Gretha. Die derde grootste karakter is Kabous, die kabouter wat
\nGretha en Hannes in Fantastori\u00eb, die sprokiesw\u00eareld, ontmoet. Kabous is \u2019n regte
\nknorpot, maar is soms baie snaaks en Gretha kom gou nader aan hom. Die res van
\ndie karakters is bekende sprokieskarakters, maar hulle karaktereienskappe en
\npersoonlikhede is glad nie wat die leser sal verwag nie. Ek wou graag
\ndoodgewone hoofkarakters skep, maar dit was belangrik vir my om \u2019n dieper
\nkwessie ook aan te spreek, soos Gretha wat die egskeiding van haar ouers beleef
\nen nou stieffamilie het.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wie is jou teikenmark in die boek? Is dit meer gemik op
\ndie tienermark? <\/strong>Soos die eerste boek in die reeks, is hierdie boek ook
\ngeskik vir lesers vanaf 9 tot 14. Ek weet egter, net soos met my Grilgryper<\/em>s-reeks,
\ndat daar baie volwasse lesers is wat dit ook baie geniet. Dit wys jou net:
\nNiemand is ooit te oud vir \u2018n lekker avontuur nie! Natuurlik is daar die
\naanname dat seuns nie lief is vir sprokies nie, maar hierdie boek is
\nallesbehalwe \u2018n tradisionele sprokieboek. Seuns en meisies wat hou van
\nspanningsverhale en naelbytaksie, sal dit verslind! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ek hoor jy is tans in Kleinmond a.g.v. reisregulasies, is
\ndit lekker om weer bietjie tuis te wees?<\/strong> Ja, ek het in Oktober 2020 terug
\nSuid-Afrika toe gekom om Kersfees saam met my familie te kon vier, maar sedert
\nJanuarie 2021 is ek basies hier vasgekeer. Gelukkig kan ek aanlyn skoolhou, so
\nmy werk ly nie daaronder nie. Ek is egter redelik gretig om terug na
\nSaoedi-Arabi\u00eb te kan reis, want n\u00e1 11 jaar daar, mis ek natuurlik my woonstel,
\nroetine en vriende. Maar op die ouderdom van 38 is dit \u2018n reusevoorreg om weer
\nsoos \u2018n kind by my ouers in die huis te kan woon. Hulle bederf my vreeslik en
\nek kan nie anders as om die Here elke dag te bedank vir hierdie kwaliteittyd
\nsaam met my geliefdes nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As jy jong skrywers twee wenke kon gee om \u2018n suksesvolle
\nboek te skryf, wat sou dit wees?<\/strong> As voltydse laerskoolonderwyser, sal my
\neerste wenk altyd wees om soveel as moontlik te lees \u2013 goeie en slegte boeke,
\nwant so leer mens waarvan jy hou en jy leer uit ander se foute. Die meeste
\ngepubliseerde werke dien natuurlik as \u2018n model vir goeie skryfwerk. Tweedens
\nsal ek aspirantskrywers aanmoedig om bewus te word van perspektief in stories.
\nMaak jouself bekend met die verskillende soorte oogpunte waaruit stories vertel
\nword. Sodra jy dit verstaan en regkry om jou storie uit slegs een oogpunt te
\nvertel, is jy al halfpad daar om \u2018n goeie skrywer genoem te kan word. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Werk jy al aan jou volgende boek, gee vir ons so bietjie
\ninligting oor watter boek jy beplan om volgende te skryf?<\/strong> Ek beplan beslis
\nnog \u2018n Kies-jou-avontuur<\/em> vir volgende jaar, maar het dit nog nie begin
\nskryf of met my uitgewer bespreek nie. My eerste boek vir jonger lesers in die
\nouderdomsgroep 6 tot 9 verskyn wel volgende jaar by Human & Rousseau. Dan
\nis ek tans besig met \u2018n losstaande storie vir die ouderdomsgroep 12 tot 15. Dis
\n\u2018n drama en ek hoop dit sal wel eendag as \u2018n boek op winkelrakke beskikbaar
