The Department of Health in the
\nOverberg reports that due to a \u201csudden reduction\u201d in the supply of vaccines, no
\nvaccinations in the Overstrand will take place for the next three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doctor Jannie Mouton, Acting
\nMedical Manager Overstrand Sub-district, stated: \u201cDue to a sudden reduction in
\nvaccine flow for this week, for reasons beyond our control, we unfortunately
\nwill not be able to honour any of our commitments for the next three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis unfortunately also means
\nthat people from Gansbaai, originally scheduled for Monday 12 July and who were
\nrescheduled to Thursday 15 July, will not be able to receive their vaccines and
\nthe system cannot generate another postponement message.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mouton added that the department
\nis in the process of trying to contact individuals who were scheduled to
\nreceive the vaccines to inform them of the developments and to reschedule
\nappointments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
No vaccinations are scheduled to
\ntake place in the Overstrand from 14 \u2013 16 July. Teams will however continue to
\nvisit eligible persons who are bedridden to vaccinate them in the comfort of
\ntheir homes from 14 \u2013 16 July. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf you know of any bedridden
\npeople who did not register or phoned the sub-district office to put their name
\non a list, kindly encourage them to do so,\u201d said Mouton. \u201cThey can phone 028
\n313 5279 to register.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added: \u201cOur vaccine delivery
\nscheduled for next week, 19 \u2013 23 July is also very limited but we will try to
\ncommit to the schedule below with less vaccines until informed otherwise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
