The family of a man and his baby gunned down in Grabouw believes it was a hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAfter the principal of Umyezo High School was shot in 2020 there were rumours that Solly was next because he was the chairperson of the School Governing Body,\u201d said Pinkie Ntwana, widow of Solomzi \u201cSolly\u201d Ntwana, who was gunned down in his driveway last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ntwana and his son Avumile (two years and 8 months old) died after an unknown gunman opened fire on their car on Tuesday 8 February. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ntwana and his children, Avumile and Iminathi (7), had just returned from dropping their cousins off at their grandmother\u2019s house when the shooting occurred at approximately 21:50. It is believed young Iminathi witnessed the shooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShe had got out to direct her father into the spot where he parks, as she always does,\u201d Ntwana related. \u201cOur baby always sat on his dad\u2019s lap while he parked, pretending to drive the car. I think Solly tried to protect him by throwing him onto the back seat when he saw the shooter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She believes her husband took out his gun in an effort to protect himself and his family, but never got the chance to use it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI heard gunshots, lots of shots. When I came out I saw two men running away. My daughter told me one was standing right by the window when he fired the shots.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
