\u201cWe will not stop coming to this court until Sisipho\u2019s killers are caught!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was the message of Masizole Mnqasela, Speaker of the Western Cape Parliament, and a large contingent of Zwelihle residents who once again marched to the Hermanus Magistrate\u2019s Court last week to demand justice for Sisipho Mayile, whose body was discovered near Camphill a week after going missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said: \u201cToday (Friday 11 February) is 29 days (since Sisipho disappeared) and not even one person has been arrested and charged with her death. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will not rest until the killers are found and justice is done. The criminals must rot in jail.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brigadier Donovan Heilbron, Overberg Police Cluster Commander, reported that, as per the demands handed to him during the previous march, two detectives from the Provincial Police Head Office had been assigned to the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Heilbron emphasised the investigation is at a very sensitive stage and gave the assurance DNA testing and cellphone downloads related to the case are being prioritised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe hope and pray that we will get a break soon,\u201d he said. \u201cWe want to get the person who did this into court, to get a conviction and sentence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Heilbron reported all eyewitnesses had been re-interviewed and all possible leads are being followed up. He added: \u201cWe do not want to arrest to investigate, we want to investigate to arrest because this will lead to justice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mnqasela announced another march to demand justice will be undertaken soon, possibly Human Rights Day, 21 March, as this will allow more people to take part.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
