From humble beginnings to someone who is going to host the Platinum Jubilee Beacons Event in South Africa on 2 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many people know Inga Mfundisi, a resident of Zwelihle who with her bubbly personality makes an impact on the life of everyone who crosses her path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This 20-year-old founder of the Ekuphumleni Empowerment Solutions, a non-profit organisation for youth development and social justice, is passionate about learning and, most importantly, sharing her expertise with the people she surrounds herself with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI live life to the fullest and am not afraid to take chances,\u201d she said. \u201cWith more than eight years of public speaking experience, I have been able to speak on platforms such as the Sussex Model United Nations and Western Cape Youth Parliamentary Speech competition. These opportunities have allowed me to broaden my horizons and focus on my holistic development.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mfundisi is a self-determined individual who strives to better many aspects of her life and beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
An honour has just presented itself which she sees as an opportunity to make a difference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am always on the lookout for something to uplift the community,\u201d she said, \u201cand the youth and I came across this opportunity on Facebook to mark Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain\u2019s Platinum Jubilee. I immediately got all my documentation in place and applied for the prestigious event.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Jubilee Beacons is one of the official events of the Platinum Jubilee marked throughout the Commonwealth, something that presents an opportunity for its peoples to celebrate the queen, who is revered as a living symbol of unity within the Commonwealth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was thrilled when I received the confirmation letter on 29 April that the Queen\u2019s Commonwealth Trust had invited me, as QCT Young Leader, to host a Platinum Jubilee Beacons event in South Africa. Our theme is \u2018Children and Youth in Sports and Arts\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mfundisi plans to invite about 300 young people from all over the Western Cape to be part of this celebration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI love the Royal Family, and this is an opportunity I am going to put my heart and soul into. What also excites me is that William and Kate, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will commemorate the event on the same day in India.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She admits her favourite royal, Kate, is someone she looks up to. \u201cI love her dress code, her love for her children and passion for the people.\u201d She asks residents and businesses to help make this day memorable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
