Blue Drop Report confirms the Overstrand water supply is of good quality and safe to drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Blue Drop Progress Report was recently released by the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), the first report since 2014. A total of 1 186 drinking water supply systems were evaluated in 144 municipalities. The period under review was 1 July 2020-30 June 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A formula was used to calculate a total Blue Drop Risk Rating (BDRR) for each water supply system. A BDRR below 50% is categorised as low risk, while a BDRR of 50% to 70% is a medium risk, 70% to 90% high risk, and more than 90% a critical risk. All eight Overstrand Municipality water supply systems were in the low-risk category, and five had among the 20 lowest-risk ratings in the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
