Yona Yethu Artistic Production is passionate about using drama, music and poetry to convey important messages and create awareness of issues such as domestic and Gender-Based Violence (GBV). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And this is exactly what they will do when they take to the stage in the Moffat Hall in Mount Pleasant on 18 June to perform Voice Out<\/i>, a play written by director Spiwo Mlanjana, urging victims of abuse and domestic violence to speak about their experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eric Begala explains that Yona Yethu Artistic Production is an NGO that was started in 2013 in Cape Town. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen Yona Yethu came to Hermanus we joined forces with Spairo Art Foundation that is run by Spiwo Mlanjana,\u201d said Begala. \u201cWe work mainly with kids from Grade 8 to 11, for this is the stage where they start facing challenges such as mixing with the wrong friends and experimenting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
