Magistrate Andr\u00e9 Maqubu found that this (the wife\u2019s illness) proved \u201cexceptional circumstances\u201d for the accused to be released on bail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe court is convinced there is sufficient evidence for the court, in the interests of justice, to grant bail of R10 000,\u201d he said in his verdict. Maqubu, however, admonished the accused for engaging in sex with other women despite his wife\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court set conditions that the accused not be allowed to visit Hawston nor make direct or indirect contact with the complainant. The case was postponed to 13 October for further investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Capt Buks Hanekom, head of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit investigating the matter, stated there was a possibility that more young girls might have fallen prey to the alleged perpetrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAt this stage, no other victims have come forward to lay charges,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe call on anyone who may have information to this effect, or minors who were involved with the suspect under the Johnny Cash Facebook profile to contact the FCS Unit. All information will be treated confidentially.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
