Sy is ook lid van die Walker Bay-vrouerugbyklub en is vroeg in haar loopbaan in die Boland-o.16-vrouespan opgeneem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michelle Bosch, Boland-rugbyvroue se spanbestuurder, vertel Boland-vrouerugby se hoofafrigter, Thomas Chowles, het in 2019 \u2013 tydens die Boland-vroue se toer na Mosambiek \u2013 van Zena se talent bewus geword.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chowles s\u00ea Zena het ook in skoolwedstryde uitgestaan. \u201cEk het toe al voorspel sy sal uitblink,\u201d het hy bygevoeg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volgens Bosch het Zena oor die jare hard gewerk om haarself te bewys. Sy vertel: \u201cZena het in 2021 saam met die Boland-vroue begin oefen en is in 2022 in die span opgeneem. Aseza \u2018Blommie\u2019 Hele, wat tans as nommer 8 vir die Springbok-vrouespan uitdraf, en Theresa \u2018Trixie\u2019 Ruiters het Zena onder hul vlerk geneem.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hele woon sedert 2020 in Hermanus. Sy het \u2019n ernstige beenbesering opgedoen, wat haar vir 13 maande van die veld af gehou het. Sy het in di\u00e9 tyd intense rehabilitasie ondergaan en vir Zena, wat ook as agsteman uitblink, touwys gemaak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hele en Ayanda Malinga, wat ook sedert 2021 in Hermanus woon en vir Boland speel, het in die Springbok-vroue se sege Saterdag oor Spanje uitgeblink. Malinga het twee drie\u00eb gedruk en sodoende gehelp om die Bokke se sege van 44-5 te verseker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n <b>Inspirasie<\/b>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toe sy op Vrouedag (Dinsdag 9 Augustus) die oproep kry om te s\u00ea sy is in die o.21-Springbok-vrouerugbyspan opgeneem, vertel Zena, het trane van blydskap gevloei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEk het dadelik vir die Here dankie ges\u00ea, want dis net deur ons God wat ek is waar ek vandag is . . .\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ondersteuning van haar ma, Esther Swart, haar spanmaats en die rugbygemeenskap, s\u00ea Zena, het daartoe bygedra dat sy nie getwyfel het aan haar kanse om die o.21-Springbok-vrouerugbyspan te haal nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOmdat mense soos my ouers, familie en my Boland-familie in my geglo het, het ek die geleentheid met albei hande gegryp. Hoe harder ek gewerk het, hoe meer selfvertroue het ek opgebou,\u201d s\u00ea Zena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volgens di\u00e9 belowende speler is Hele haar \u201cster\u201d. \u201cOmdat ons dieselfde posisie speel, leer ek baie by haar. Sy druk en gee my die selfvertroue om nog harder te werk,\u201d vertel Zena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEk kyk ook op na die manne van Hawston Skrik vir Niks.
