This despite the fact that Overstrand Municipality has transfer stations, drop-off facilities and dumping sites available, where builder\u2019s rubble can be dumped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The problem is, however, not limited to this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cResidents are kindly requested to take responsibility for their waste and immediately report any incidents of illegal dumping of household waste and garden refuse or builders\u2019 rubble to Overstrand Law Enforcement on 028 313 8996,\u201d said Overstrand Municipal Manager Dean O\u2019Neill. \u201cUnfortunately, illegal dumping is difficult to enforce unless we catch somebody in the act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen you report unlawful dumping of household waste, garden refuse and\/or builders\u2019 rubble to Law Enforcement, please provide as much information as you can, such as the names of alleged perpetrators, vehicle registration or colour of the vehicle and the type of waste. You don\u2019t need the perpetrator\u2019s photo, but it will strengthen the case for a warning or fine to be issued. Don\u2019t let illegal dumpers get away with it.
