Die Kersvakansie is op ons en paaie, veral die N2, gaan druk besig wees die volgende maand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens padgebruikers is dit \u2019n nagmerrie om die N2 naby Grabouw te gebruik. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verlede Saterdag is twee voertuie met klippe bestook \u2013 waarvan die Grabouw-polisie bewus is. Volgens kapt. Raldene Atson, \u2019n woordvoerder van die Grabouw-polisie, is twee klagtes oor di\u00e9 klipgooiery Saterdagaand 26 November aangemeld. Volgens haar het die voorvalle aan Hillside se kant gebeur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens \u2019n betroubare bron het nog voorvalle voorgekom waar mense amper hul lewe op die N2 verloor het. \u201cVolgens my het vier voorvalle voorgekom, waar mense op die N2 onder die klippe gesteek is,\u201d het die bron ges\u00ea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grabouw-inwoners wat daagliks tussen Grabouw en Somerset-Wes en Strand pendel, s\u00ea om die N2 te gebruik, raak lewensgevaarlik. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit het behoorlik op sosiale media gegons toe inwoners van die voorvalle te wete gekom het. Een inwoner vertel dat baie vroue alleen op die pad ry, en s\u00ea dit kan \u2019n veiligheidsrisiko vir hulle inhou. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie klipgooiery op die N2 is besig om \u2019n baie groot probleem te word. Daar is hoeveel vroue wat daagliks alleen op daardie pad moet ry. Kan die polisie of verkeersdepartement nie iets aan die saak doen nie?\u201d het een padgebruiker op WhatsApp ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens een van die slagoffers, wat verkies om anoniem te bly, is die gerugte wat die ronde doen dat dit kinders is wat kattekwaad aanvang, onwaar. \u201cEk het gesien hoe \u2019n volwasse man \u2019n klip optel en in ons rigting gooi,\u201d het sy ges\u00ea. \u201cDit is uit en uit om mense te beroof.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inwoners is ook moedeloos aangesien niemand, volgens hulle, iets daadwerk-lik wil doen om die situasie op te los nie. \u2019n Voorstel is by \u2019n onlangse gemeenskapspolisi\u00ebringsvergadering gedoen dat van die inwoners, buurt-wagte en private veiligheidsmaatskappye die owerhede moet help om op die N2 te patrolleer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Menige inwoner voel dit is nie regverdig dat buurtwagte en inwoners die werk van die polisie moet doen en hul lewens in gevaar moet stel nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maar dit is nie net klipgooiery wat padgebruikers die josie in maak nie \u2013 ook die beeste op die N2 asook kinders wat heen en weer oor die pad hardloop, is \u2019n groot probleem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Distrikspos<\/em>, Hermanus Times<\/em> se susterskoerant, het in Mei berig oor Richard de Villiers, die Radio Disa-omroeper wat \u2019n bees op die snelweg naby die Pineview-afdraai getref het, maar kort n\u00e1 die voorval \u2019n slagoffer van roof geword het (\u201cOmroeper tref bees, toe beroof\u201d, Distrikspos<\/em> 11 Mei 2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEk was gelukkig en is die Here dankbaar dat Hy sy engele gestuur het om my op te pas. Maar, m\u00f4re gebeur dit met iemand anders, wat dalk nie so gelukkig is nie,\u201d het hy destyds ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keenan Walbrugh, die Wes-Kaapse projekbestuurder vir die Suid-Afrikaanse Nasionale Padagentskap (Sanral), het ook in Mei ges\u00ea hulle neem kennis van die kommer wat geopper is en ondersoek opsies om padveiligheid op die betrokke gedeelte van die snelweg te verbeter \u2013 maar na maande se probleme word steeds niks gedoen aan die situasie wat net al erger raak nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hermanus Times<\/em> het die Wes-Kaapse verkeerswoordvoerder oor kommentaar genader of hulle nie dalk iets aan die situasie kan doen nie, maar teen druktyd is geen terugvoering nog ontvang nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
