The organisers of the Cape Epic say they do a post-race survey and determine the financial impact of the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe can confirm 700 riders stayed off site, and we booked many rooms for crew, riders\u2019 support crew or family,\u201d Natascha Conradie stated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo I can estimate at least 1 000 beds were booked the two nights we were in Hermanus.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many of these riders would have eaten in the town restaurants, shopped in the local grocery stores and made use of services in the area (laundry, fuel, goods and so on).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other restaurants and businesses in Hermanus responded overwhelmingly positive with the following comments: .<\/span> Great weekend all round, very well organised and great for business, with compliments to everyone involved in organising it and keeping Hermanus clean and safe. .<\/span> Great week! Thanks Epic!.<\/span> Hermanus High School was an excellent central starting point and everything was handled well. .<\/span> The traffic arrangements were very professional and excellently managed. .<\/span> It was so excellent for business. .<\/span> We must all do everything possible to protect this for our area to benefit from. .<\/span> The owner of a restaurant in Betty\u2019s Bay said the economic benefit was localised to the Hermanus area and other villages in the Overstrand did not really experience an increase in business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n They hope the organisers of Cape Epic will
