Caring for a child with disabilities is no easy feat, and that\u2019s why Maylene Wewers was overjoyed when members of the Villains Motorcycle Club arrived on her doorstep with some gifts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Contrary to their name, this group of bikers believes in doing good and helping those in need. The local chapter of The Villains, according to Jaym\u00e9-Lee Smith, is a tight-knit group of 11 members who are passionate about biking and assisting others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This chapter originated from the mother chapter in Cape Town. There is another chapter in Port Elizabeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Smith, the secretary of The Villains, said the group was touched by the story of Zea Wewers, a young girl from Mount Pleasant left blind and disabled after miraculously \u201creturning from the dead\u201d after doctors declared her brain dead when she was only 2 months old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Smith said after reaching out to Maylene, who told them all about her daughter Zea\u2019s disabilities and the challenges the family faced, they set about collecting funds and essential items to make life a bit easier for Zea and her mother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Villains donated pull-up diapers, medication and sanitary products, Pediasure formula and squishy treats, as Zea cannot consume solid food. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe donation was a heartfelt initiative. The goal was to ensure Zea received the necessary support and resources,\u201d Smith stated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Villains are planning to do another supply drop-off to Zea\u2019s family in the near future and to eventually expand on this endeavour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are starting small within our bike club,\u201d Smith said. \u201cWe would like to, in the near future, take it further by involving other biking clubs to contribute or to donate to our drives whether it will be for Zea or others who are in need.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
