The Western Cape Government Department of Infrastructure, in collaboration with the Overstrand Municipality\u2019s Local Economic Development (LED), invites emerging contractors from the Overstrand for a pre-tender training programme in Hermanus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The purpose of the training programme, said the municipality, is to upskill emerging contractors in tendering skills, enhance their knowledge about the tendering process when tendering for any construction projects in the future, become a better entrepreneur and manage a business successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The training, which starts in September, will be for a period of 22 days, split into 15 days\u2019 class training and seven days\u2019 assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEmerging contractors must take note the training is offered free of charge, but they must sacrifice their time as no stipend will be payable, but lunch will be provided,\u201d said Overstrand Municipal Manager Dean O\u2019Neill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those interested are encouraged to apply for the training programme by submitting the following certified and valid documents for pre-qualification:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Registration with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC);<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 CIDB registration \u2013 Grades 1 to 4 CE or GB (Note: active membership);<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 SARS tax compliance;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD);<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Proof of highest school qualification (Certificate or letter on schools\u2019 letterhead);<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Proof of residence of the owner of the business;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Letter of commitment to attend the training for the 22-day period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
