The Harold Porter Botanical Gardens (HPG) outside Betty\u2019s Bay are full of surprises. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One such surprise is the \u201cHPG 4,6 billion year Earth age and local 600 million-year Overberg geological displays\u201d that will be in the gardens on 15 September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These displays have been constructed by the Overberg Geologeoscientis Group (OGG) in partnership with SANBI by local and international geological, earth and species evolution, climate change, geomorphology, structural, mineral economics and related experts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe key objective of these HPG displays and their setting, is to take geology to non-geologists, including laypersons, educators, learners, disadvantaged communities, policy makers, and other interested parties,\u201d said John Bristow of the Overberg Geoscientists Group. \u201cGeology, and the rocks, minerals and water we all take for granted are the building blocks of life, for without them there would be no life on earth.
