All customers of the Overstrand Municipality are receiving their monthly municipal accounts via e-mail or a Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), and they\u2019re no longer sent in printed form via the post office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA third option, a \u2018one-liner\u2019 SMS, is now also available for those residents who do not have a smart phone to open the MMS link to view their statements,\u201d Dean O\u2019Neill, the Municipal Manager of the Overstrand Municipality, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There seems to be concern among account holders who received their February 2024 statements plus a short SMS reminder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is just a duplication and not an additional statement,\u201d he said. \u201cThose customers who do not have a smartphone to open the MMS link to view their statements, or who are using an e-mail address, are welcome to visit their nearest rates hall to confirm they want the SMS as preferred choice to receive their monthly municipal accounts.
