The Theewaterskloof Municipality and The Inter Faith Society held an interfaith prayer service on Friday 24 May at the Caledon Town Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event which was attended by religious leaders, councillors, staff, members of the public, dignitaries and the Independent Electoral Commission was held to unite the community in prayer for safe, free and fair elections during the National and Provincial elections on 29 May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pastor Ntandozo Mlata was the keynote speaker and various pastors from the Theewaterskloof area delivered prayers and spiritual messages. A declaration pledging their dedication to free and fair elections was signed by all political parties present, followed by a collective prayer by the pastors for success and peace for the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Executive Mayor Alderman Mary Liebenberg and Speaker of Council Derick Appel in their address to those attending stressed the importance of unity and integrity in the electoral process. The House of Salem Caledon choir and Craig Grandling with Thabo David provided powerful and uplifting musical items. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
