\u201cIs Overstrand werklik daar vir almal?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u00edt is die vraag op Paradisepark-inwoners se lippe nadat die hof verlede week beveel het om finaal met die uitsettings van erf 927 te begin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verslae inwoners het op \u2019n koue wintersoggend op 6 Junie, toe die kwik maar op 9 \u00b0<\/span>C gestaan het, geluister hoe Magna Business Services hulle in ken\u00adnis gestel het dat die uitsettings\u00adproses gaan plaasvind. Later moes hulle toekyk hoe die Rooi\u00admiere hul eens rustige buurt binnekom \u2013 gewapen \u2013 en hulle soos \u201cskurke\u201d laat voel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hulle het diegene wat hul eiendom vrywilliglik sal verlaat, kans gegee om dit teen 10 Junie per e-pos aan te dui en dan sal hulle tot 24 Junie gegun word om hul persoonlike besittings op te pak en te verhuis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geen ander heenkome<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Volgens Tracey Henn, \u2019n gemeenskapsaktivis en self \u2019n inwoner van Paradisepark, het die meeste van die inwoners geen ander heenkome nie. Met behuising wat \u2019n groot probleem in die Overstrand- munisipale gebied is, is die ongeveer 300 inwoners van Paradisepark behoorlik platgeslaan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOns het n\u00e1 die vorige raadsvergadering, waar die burgemeester belowe het dat hulle sal onderhandel om die grond te koop, gehoop hierdie nagmerrie sal verby wees, maar nou lyk dit my ons is in die middel daarvan,\u201d het \u2019n inwoner vertel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nog \u2019n inwoner s\u00ea sy woon al 40 jaar in Paradisepark en noem dit haar eie. \u201cEk het die huis wettig gebou met bouplanne wat deur die destydse muni\u00adsipaliteit goedgekeur is. Waar\u00adheen dan nou?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Henn s\u00ea die meeste inwoners van Paradisepark is ouer as 65 en afhanklik van Sassa-toelae. Volgens haar is die teenwoor\u00addigheid van die Rooimiere ook \u2019n probleem en voel die inwo\u00adners ge\u00efntimideer. Een van die inwoners vertel van \u2019n kind wat by haar onderwyseres moes gaan bly aangesien sy nagmer\u00adries kry oor die manne met wapens wat hul eens rustige buurt nou steur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEk het vanoggend (14 Junie) baie vroeg drie skote gehoor,\u201d het nog \u2019n inwoner vertel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maandag 10 Junie het die inwoners van Paradisepark tesame met die president van die ACC, Masizole Mnqasela, \u2019n vreedsame optog na die Over\u00adstrand-munisipaliteit gehou om \u2019n memorandum oor die toekoms van Paradisepark en diensle\u00adwering aan die burgemees\u00adter, dr. Annelie Rabie, te oorhandig. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens Mnqasela was dit vir hom skokkend om te sien dat Rabie letterlik haar rug op die Paradisepark-inwo\u00adners gedraai en nie die memorandum aanvaar het nie aange\u00adsien dit van \u2019n politieke party is en nie van die inwoners nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nie politiek nie<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVir ons gaan dit nie oor politiek nie. Ek het my al destyds, toe ek nog \u2019n DA-lid was, beywer om \u2019n toekoms vir die Paradisepark-inwoners daar te stel. Tertuis Simmers en \u2019n voormalige premier van die Wes-Kaap, Helen Zille, het ook die inwoners van Paradisepark gerusgestel,\u201d het Mnqasela gese. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens hom was hulle baie positief oor die hele proses aangesien Rabie haar tydens \u2019n raadsvergadering op 27 Maart glo verbind het om aandag te skenk aan die koop van Paradisepark vir die inwoners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hermanus Times<\/em> het \u2019n afskrif van \u2019n brief wat Rabie op 31 Januarie aan die Wes-Kaapse minister van plaaslike regering, omgewingsake en ontwikkelings\u00adbeplanning, Anton Bredell, gerig het. In die brief stel sy dit dui\u00addelik dat sy nie by die destydse onderhandelinge tussen Zille, Simmers, Mnqasela en die inwoners van Paradisepark betrokke was nie. \u201cAs skrywer was ek nie betrokke by die beweerde beloftes van onteiening met redelike vergoeding nie en daarom rig ek formeel die versoek aan u,\u201d lui die brief. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tydens Vrydag (14 Junie) se vreedsame optog het die organiseerders daarop aange\u00addring om \u2019n memorandum aan die burgemeester te oorhandig. Rabie het by mon\u00adde van munisipale wetstoepassers laat weet die verteen\u00adwoordiger van Paradisepark kan haar kom sien en die memoran\u00addum aan haar oorhandig. Die pers is nie by die oorhandiging toegelaat nie aangesien dit glo \u2019n \u201cgeslote vergadering\u201d was. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOns gaan nie ophou veg vir dit wat reg is nie. Dis ons reg om hier te bly \u2013 d\u00edt wat sy vir Schulphoek se inwoners gedoen het, kan sy vir ons ook doen,\u201d het \u2019n inwoner ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mnqasela het ook bevestig die Wes-Kaapse premier, Alan Winde, en die Menseregte\u00adkommissie is bewus van die aangeleentheid en het glo belowe dat hulle aandag daaraan sal gee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rabie het wel erken sy het die memorandum ontvang: \u201cDaar word kennis geneem van die inhoud van die memorandum en ek ontken dit ten sterkste. Ek sal \u2019n afskrif ontvang, maar sal nie daarop reageer nie.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
