The Western Cape Provincial Government\u2019s newly appointed Minister of Mobility, Isaac Sileku, visited the Provincial Traffic Department in Caledon on Monday 24 June, meeting with provincial traffic officers from the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a media statement he said: \u201cI am using my first few days in office to visit Traffic Centres across the province to express my gratitude to provincial traffic officers for their commitment and dedication to keep our road network safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRoad safety is one of the key priorities of the Mobility Department. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese men and women in uniform perform their daily duties with pride by protecting all our road users. We are enormously grateful for their contribution in keeping residents safe by applying the Rule of Law come rain or shine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cToo many road users are losing their lives on our roads, and I am grateful to every officer who goes above and beyond their call of duty to make our roads safer. By working together we can achieve our goal of reducing road fatalities by 50% by 2030. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
