Is die geskiedenis besig om homself te herhaal?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u00edt is die vraag wat menige Botrivier-inwoner vra nadat hulle weer van Vrydagoggend sonder elektrisiteit is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gerugte doen die ronde dat dit weens kabeldiefstal is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hermanus Times<\/em> het op 5 Julie 2023 ook berig oor Botrivier wat dae lank sonder elektrisiteit gesit het (\u201cDae lank sonder krag\u201d, 5 Julie 2023). In die berig het inwoners van 23 tot 28 Junie 2023 sonder elektrisiteit gesit toe hul kragtoevoer weens vandalisme afgesny is en hulle later fase 1-elektrisiteitstoevoer gehad het. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eskom het op 27 Junie 2023 bevestig diefstal van kabels en vandalisme aan die infrastruktuur oor die Wes-Kaap heen raak die elektrisiteitstoevoer na verbruikers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maar nou is dit weer so . . . Retha Evans, die bestuurder van Larenbosch-aftreeoord, het haar misnoe\u00eb oor die situasie uitgespreek. \u201cOns mense is al van Vrydagoggend af sonder elektrisiteit \u2013 die aftree-oord, die Botrivier-hotel en die ander ondernemings rondom die hotel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOns het dit aangemeld, maar niks is nog daaraan gedoen nie. Ons kos is besig om te vrot, die omsetters werk nie meer nie en die mense kan nie hul selfone laai nie,\u201d het sy ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens gerugte is dit kabeldiefstal wat almal so verlam. \u201cDit ruk nou handuit en kan nie meer so aangaan nie.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mekie Plato, die raadslid vir Wyk 7 wat deur die beweerde kabeldiefstal geraak word, het bevestig dat sy \u2019n vergadering met amptenare van Eskom oor die kragprobleem gehou het. \u201cNadat die krag af gegaan het, het ons dit dadelik by Eskom aangemeld en verwysingsnommers gekry. Hulle het aan my bevestig dat dit diefstal van die oorhoofse kabels was.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens haar het sy die probleem verder geneem en hoop sy op spoedige herstel. \u201cWat my bekommer is, hulle s\u00ea die probleem kan nog \u2019n rukkie neem om te herstel. Ons praat van bejaardes wat deur hierdie diefstal geraak word,\u201d vertel sy. \u201cNadat ek met die Eskom-beampte vergader het, het hy ges\u00ea indien die oorsaak kabeldiefstal is, moet Eskom se hoofkantoor die besluite neem oor wanneer en \u00f3f hulle dit wil herstel aangesien dit die gemeenskap is wat die probleme veroorsaak het. Ek wil die gemeenskap vra om kabeldiefstal of brandstigting so gou as moontlik aan te meld. Ons almal word deur die toenemende misdaadneiging geraak.\u201dGrabouw<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Party inwoners van Grabouw sit al van 7 Julie sonder elektrisiteit. \u201cDie meeste inwoners se krag is n\u00e1 ses dae herstel; ander eers n\u00e1 12 dae; maar party se krag is steeds af,\u201d het \u2019n inwoner gekla. Molteno-inwoners was 17 dae sonder krag en Jaggervlakte vir 12 dae. Klipkop is ook al 15 dae sonder elektrisiteit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raadslede en inwoners het alles in hul vermo\u00eb gedoen om elektrisiteit vir die inwoners te kry en selfs koffie en kos is vir die Eskom-beamptes aangedra. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens Christiaan de Vlam, wat al 13 jaar \u2019n gemeenskapsaktivis in Grabouw is, is party huise in Molteno steeds sonder krag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEskom smeer hulle net af aan ons. As ons foute by die Eskom-kantoor in Grabouw gaan aanmeld, verwys hulle ons na die Bellville-kantoor. Dis mos belaglik.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inwoners het ook \u2019n vreedsame optog na die Eskom-kantoor in Grabouw onderneem om hul misnoe\u00eb uit te spreek. Die organiseerder van die optog, Carla Norris, het bevestig 160 mense, wat almal \u2019n verwysingsnommer het vir foute wat hulle by Eskom aangemeld het, was deel van die optog. Die optog was op 17 Julie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens De Vlam beplan hulle weer \u2019n optog na die Eskom-kantoor in die dorp en hoop hulle sal luister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nog \u2019n inwoner van Molteno, wat nou al drie maande sonder elektrisiteit is, sit op moedverloor se vlakte. \u201cEk het op 23 Mei 2024 R6 052,60 vir \u2019n nuwe kragboks betaal. Ek het steeds nie \u2019n boks nie en ook nie elektrisiteit nie,\u201d het sy ges\u00ea. Hermanus Times<\/em> het die bewys van betaling aan Eskom en die erkenning van ontvangs van Eskom in ons besit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grabouw-inwoners word deur nog \u2019n probleem in die gesig gestaar nadat \u2019n boodskap op WhatsApp die ronde gedoen het dat die pompstasie by Eikenhofdam weens kabeldiefstal nie werk nie. Volgens die boodskap kan dit twee dae duur voor die pompstasie herstel word. Die Theewaterskloof-munisipaliteit kon nie bevestig of dit wel die geval was nie.Volgens Eskom kan enige vandalisering van Eskom-infrastruktuur of kabeldiefstal dadelik aangemeld word by die noodnommer 0800 112 722 of jou naaste polisiekantoor. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
