Dit is nou die laaste strooi wat die kameel se rug gebreek het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit is hoe inwoners van Grabouw voel nadat \u2019n berig Sondag in Rapport<\/em> verskyn het oor rowers wat die produksiespan van die Prontui<\/em>t<\/span>-program wat op kykNET verskyn, onlangs by die Ho\u00ebrskool Grabouw se sportterrein oorval en beroof het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die aanbieder van die program, Kabous Meiring, vertel hulle was besig met \u2019n program oor klubrugby toe verdagtes hulle helder oordag oorval en van al hul toerusting en private besittings beroof het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die saga rakende die toestand van die sportterrein duur nou al jare lank en selfs inwoners van die omliggende buurt het al uit hul eie sak kameras by die paviljoen opgerig en herstel ook gereeld die heining wat kwaaddoeners gedurig verwyder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die inwoners is ook keelvol oor die toestand van die veld \u2013 veral n\u00e1 wedstryde \u2013 en volgens hulle is dit \u2019n oogseer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hermanus Times<\/em> het op 15 Februarie 2023 berig oor die toutrekkery oor wie vir die Ho\u00ebrskool Grabouw se rugbyveld verantwoordelik is (\u201cNuwe hoop vir rugbyveld\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die voormalige onderburgemeester van die Theewaterskloof-munisipaliteit (TWK) en ook \u2019n inwoner van Grabouw, John Michels, het verlede jaar op sy Facebookblad ges\u00ea: \u201c \u2019n Vergadering is die afgelope week deur die TWK, die Ho\u00ebrskool Grabouw en die Safcol- en Grabouw-rugbyklub gehou. Ek was self teenwoordig en dit het gegaan oor die veld in die dorp en om dit gereed te kry vir die komende ligaseisoen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hy het verder genoem dat \u2019n samewerkingsooreenkoms tussen die skool en die TWK gesluit gaan word en dat die TWK reeds n\u00e1 die vergadering \u2019n voorgestelde ooreenkoms aan die skool en die klubs gestuur het. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIndien dit ooreengekom word, wat ek glo sal gebeur, gaan dit ons as die TWK toelaat om geld aan die opknapping van die veld te bestee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs onderburgemeester glo ek dat die ooreenkoms die komende week gefinaliseer sal word,\u201d het hy destyds ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit is nou al byna twee jaar vandat die beloftes gemaak is en inwoners kla die sportterrein van die Ho\u00ebrskool Grabouw gaan net meer en meer agteruit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bekommerde inwoners en die plaaslike gholfklub het ook \u2019n brief aan die skool en die Wes-Kaapse onderwysdepartement (WKOD) gerig oor die toestand van die sportterrein. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die gholfklub het die kroegfasiliteite van die sportterrein gebruik asook gereeld sy prysuitdelings daar gehou, maar volgens inwoners is dit nou onmoontlik om iets by die sportterrein aan te bied aangesien daar nie eens lopende water en elektrisiteit is nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie sportterrein gaan elke dag meer en meer agteruit. Aangesien daar nie elektrisiteit is nie, kan die veiligheidskameras nie werk nie en sodoende neem misdaad ook toe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWat eens \u2019n spogsportterrein was wat selfs al vroe\u00ebr vir \u2019n advertensie gebruik is, is nou omtrent net bourommel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOns kinders en sportspanne verdien \u2019n veilige plek waar hulle hul sport kan beoefen,\u201d het \u2019n inwoner ges\u00ea. <\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rugbyklubs<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Met die Safcol- en Grabouw-rugbyklub wat die sportterrein ook vir wedstryde gebruik, is die bestuur van di\u00e9 twee klubs al met rooi gesigte gelaat oor die toestande van die rugbyveld. Facebook-gebruikers en besoekers aan Grabouw braak gereeld gal oor die toestand van die veld. Die klubs het ook al op hul eie onkoste die veld probeer in stand hou deur kunsmis te gooi en dit nat te maak.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maar met die varke, beeste en bokke wat gereeld op die veld wei, is dit \u2019n onmoontlike taak om die veld in \u2019n toptoestand te kry.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hermanus Times<\/em> het vertroulik verneem dat albei klubs die skool aan die begin van die jaar R20 000 betaal het om die sportterrein te kan gebruik. Verder het die TWK-munisipaliteit ook toegewings vir water gemaak en die klubs betaal ook \u2019n bedrag aan die skool as die rugbyveld vir wedstryde gebruik word. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nou vra inwoners waarvoor die geld dan gebruik is, want die sportterrein is nou in \u2019n baie swakker toestand as \u2019n jaar gelede. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navrae is aan die skool gestuur, maar die skool het ges\u00ea die WKOD sal alle vrae beantwoord. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens Millicent Merton, die direkteur van die WKOD se kommunikasiedepartement, is dit bevestig dat \u2019n vergadering tussen die skool en belanghebbende partye op 7 Oktober gehou is en dat die beheerliggaam verskeie alternatiewe op die vergadering vir verdere oorweging bespreek het, waarna dit op \u2019n ouervergadering in November voorgel\u00ea sal word.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die TWK-munisipaliteit het by navraag ges\u00ea die sportterrein is nie sy verantwoordelikheid nie en bygevoeg hy is tans besig is met die opgradering van fase 1 van die Pineview-sportterrein, wat in Desember voltooi sal wees. <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
