Artists and art lovers alike are keenly looking forward to the 8th Greyton Art Walk (GAW), which will take place from 29 November to 1 December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is not only a platform for artists to showcase their work \u2013 which includes paintings, photography, jewellery and ceramics \u2013 but for art lovers and art collectors to purchase beautiful, original works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to the main exhibition, which will be in the Dutch Reformed Church hall, works can be viewed at art galleries, artists\u2019 homes as well as in various restaurants and coffee shops. The GAW information centre will be in the church hall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Entry to all exhibits is free. A colour booklet with information about the artists as well as a map indicating the various venues will be on sale for R50. Participating venues are clearly marked with a yellow flag in the booklet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Well-known artist Richard Scott will be the guest artist this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The benefit of this community-driven project will extend to the younger generation through the Children\u2019s Art Initiative, which involves donating art supplies to local schools as well as giving training in the form of workshops. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The children\u2019s art exhibition, which is always very popular with visitors, will display about 200 works around this years\u2019 theme \u201cMe and my world\u201d in the Anglican Church hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The art walk offers visitors so much more than just art exhibitions. There are many delightful coffee shops and restaurants, unique gift shops as well as the well-known Saturday market to explore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A new website promoting the artist as well as facilitating online sales has also been launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
