A heartfelt thank you to our residents for their support and cooperation, and to Overstrand Municipality\u2019s employees for their hard work and dedication over the past year. It has not been easy: most were hard hit by the rising cost of living, and nature reminded us that living at the coast can, at times, be rather challenging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thankfully, no matter how dark and threatening the clouds, there are always those who are willing and prepared to bring light into the lives of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year, I would like to extend a special word of thanks to all the civic organisations, NGOs, NPOs, ratepayers\u2019 associations, soup kitchens, volunteer groups and ordinary citizens for their endeavours to uplift the lives of so many, either by means of financial support or unselfishly contributing their time and energy so the Overstrand can be a better place for all to live and work in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will always be hardship. For this festive season, though, I would like to wish all of you the merriest of times. May the presence of your loved ones \u2013 be it in your heart or home \u2013 bring comfort and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My hope for our residents and the municipality is that 2025 will see the realisation of dreams and will invigorate us all to achieve more and to work harder. May we also take the time to appreciate that, despite all our differences, we are still the same in that we all hope for love, peace and being afforded an opportunity to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
