Aucamp het in sy rede gese: \u201cKom soek jou ware noord hier\u201d \u2013 \u2018n verwysing na die kompas-verskynsel wat volgens oorlewering by die berugte naalde van Kaap Agulhas ondervind word. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Van die verhoog af was sprekers dit eens dat die regering (De Lille en Aucamp dien saam in die regering van nasionale eenheid, hoewel hulle aan verskillende partye behoort) nie werk skep nie, maar dat hulle die omgewing skep vir werksgeleenthede. Die projek het tydens die konstruksiefase aan 117 mense werk gebied en daar is 30 voltydse poste geskep. Drie hoof-elemente word hier saamgesnoer, tewete maritieme -, kulturele -en omgewingselemente. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vir die tussentydse voorsitter van die raad van Suid-Afrikaanse Nasionale Parke, Beryl Ferguson, gaan dit prim\u00ear oor inklusiewe kuratorskap. Die aanleg is \u2018n gesamentlike projek van die departement van toerisme en SANParke. Dit omvat onder meer \u2018n vertolkingsentrum, geskenkwinkel vir plaaslike hand- en kunswerk, en \u2018n restaurant met sitplek vir 60 mense met die gepaste naam Needles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/hermanustimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/vuurtoringagulhas2_89625.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Kunsliefhebber Ina Eksteen met een van haar skilderye in  die nuwe inligtingsentrum.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Die teenwoordiges het die geleentheid gekry om vrae te stel. Van die belangrikste punte wat gemaak is, sluit in: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Die beoogde kernkragstasie naby Bantamsklip, Pearly Peach, gaan volgens kommentaar uit die gehoor die visse verdryf en die plaaslike gemeenskap gaan daaronder ly. Hierop het minister Aucamp geantwoord dat daar \u2018n balans moet wees. \u201cDie ekonomie en die omgewing staan nie in konflik teenoor mekaar nie. Die omgewing moet beslis nie benadeel word nie. My departement sal alle app\u00e9lle hanteer.\u201d Hy het in sy toespraak melding gemaak dat daar \u2018n uitvoerbaarheidstudie gedoen moet word om vas te stel wat hier kan werk. \u201cDit is nie waar dat ekonomiese groei in die pad van die omgewing moet kom nie. \u201c <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Infrastuktur en dienslewering is per slot van rekening die verantwoordelikheid van munisipaliteite en plaaslike owerhede. \u201cDis onaanvaarbaar dat \u2018n buitelandse toeris sy geld hier kom uitgee en hy ontdek daar is nie water wat by die krane uitkom nie\u201d, aldus Willie Aucamp. \u201cOns moet eenvoudig werkende munisipaliteite h\u00ea\u201d, stel De Lille dit sonder om doekies om te draai. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vir De Lille is Afrika nie slegs die wieg van die mensdom nie, maar die wieg van kultuur. Sy het voorts die volgende beklemtoon:<br>\u00b7 \u201cHierdie aanleg moet die spil van hele streek wees en die voordele wat hy gaan skep moet deur die hele distrik verprei word.<br>\u00b7 \u201cHierdie gaan alles oor julle, die mense. Ons as owerhede gee dit nou terug aan die gemeenskap.\u201d<br>\u00b7 \u201cOns moet uitreik na die gemeenskap en hulle moet ons vertel wat die toeriste-aantreklikhede is.\u201d<br>\u00b7 \u201cToerisme-aandenkings van so ver soos Buffeljags moet hier te koop aangebied word.\u201d<br>\u00b7 \u201c13 toeriste skep een direkte werksgeleenthede en twee in direktes. Die digitale infrastuktuur van vandag is rekenaars.
