{"id":295614,"date":"2026-03-26T10:52:58","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T08:52:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/hermanustimes\/?p=295614"},"modified":"2026-03-26T10:53:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T08:53:00","slug":"theewaterskloof-munisipale-area-slaan-slag-uit-cape-epic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/hermanustimes\/theewaterskloof-munisipale-area-slaan-slag-uit-cape-epic\/","title":{"rendered":"Theewaterskloof-munisipale area slaan slag uit Cape Epic"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>VerledeWoensdag was &#8216;n besige dag in Riviersonderend&#8230; nie net vir al die vakansiegangers wat op die N2 deur die dorp op pad na hul bestemmings toe ry nie, maar ook vir die Cape Epic-fietsryers en -ondersteuners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Riviersonderend het behoorlik soos &#8216;n miernes gelyk met sy inwoners wat op straat gestaan en die fietsryers aangemoedig het. Cape Epic-ondersteuners het die lekker pasteie en weg- gesteekte winkeltjies van die dorp kom geniet en selfs die laerskool se leerders het voor die kerk bymekaargekom om die deelnemers te ondersteun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maar dit was Greyton wat gewys het waarom hy &#8216;n paar jaar gelede as die Dorp van die Jaar aangewys is wat almal verras het. Die vierde skof van die gewilde Cape Epic het Donderdag in Greyton begin en di\u00e9 dorp in die Overberg het almal aan die gons. Die dorp en sy inwoners het uit hul pad gegaan om deelnemers en gaste te verwelkom en oral was daar versierings van fietse en die feestelike atmosfeer wat in die dorp geheers het, het almal deel van die dorp en die gebeurtels laat voel.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leerders van verskeie skole asook die inwoners het die fietsryers van di\u00e9 moordende fietsren met luide applous en wapperende vlaggies in die dorp verwelkom. Ook sakeondernemings in die dorp het gees gevang en hul persele in rooi, geel en swart versier terwyl baie &#8216;n versierde fiets tentoongestel het. Vir baie van die opgewonde leerders moes die hoogtepunt gewees het toe van die fietsryers in die verbyry hulle met &#8216;n high five gegroet het. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Woensdagaand het die onderburgemeester, Cynthia Clayton, en die waarnemende munisipale bestuurder, GW Hermanus, die deelnemers en die gaste amptelik in die Theewaterskloof- munisipale gebied verwelkom. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Die Theewaterskloof-munisipaliteit wil almal welkom heet en sy verbintenis tot di\u00e9 w\u00eareldbekende sportgebeurtenis beklemtoon. Dit is &#8216;n geweldige eer vir Theewaterskloof om deel van die Absa Cape Epic, een van die mees vooraanstaande bergfietswedrenne ter w\u00eareld, te wees. Gebeurtenisse van hierdie omvang werp &#8216;n w\u00eareldwye kollig op ons streek, wat toerisme &#8216;n hupstoot gee, plaaslike ondernemings ondersteun en die natuurlike skoonheid en gasvryheid van ons dorpe ten toon stel. Ons is trots om besoekers van oor die w\u00eareld heen te verwelkom om alles te ervaar wat die Theewaterskloof te bied het,&#8221; het die burgemeester, Lincoln de Bruyn, ges\u00ea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hermanus het die TWK se gereedheid en ondersteuning beklemtoon: &#8220;Ons spanne werk ywerig om te verseker dat alle logistieke en bedryfsaspekte vlot verloop \u2013 van infrastruktuur-gereedheid tot gemeenskapsko\u00f6rdinasie. Ons staan gereed om die organiseerders en deelnemers waar nodig by te staan.
