A group of adult art-class students recently visited well-known Caledon artist Carol Mangiagalli.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arina Myburgh, artist, owner and teacher of the Montage Art Studio, said: “This visit was part of the enrichment programme for the adult students enrolled at my teaching studio. I mentor each of my students to develop a unique, authentic creative expression of their own. Visiting an artist such as Carol, who paints in the na\u00efve style, and who has achieved great success as an artist, inspired the students even more to push past the borders of traditional realism.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carol opened up her studio and home, filled with her own as well as other artists’ work and related how her personal history shaped her artworks, which started with cloth paintings and glass paintings, to her acrylic paintings that she has become so well-known for. She also shared her experience on building relationships with reputable galleries.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The students who attend classes in Hermanus, Greyton, Kleinmond and Somerset West each received an autographed book of Mangiagalli’s art. Not only were they enriched by this visit, but they were also inspired to continue their art journey with renewed enthusiasm.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mangiagalli told Hermanus Times: “It was a good visit and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting them all and telling them my life story and sharing my art journey with them. They were very generous in that they supplied all the refreshments, and two ladies even insisted on washing the dishes afterwards. It was lovely to meet and make new artist friends.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
