It is a sad reality that many school going girls are unable to attend school because they cannot afford sanitary towels, to use at those crucial times when they\u2019re needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, to ensure no girl misses school to avoid an embarrassing situation arising from menstruation, the Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) annually distributes sanitary towels to needy schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 12 February, Makapula Secondary School in Stellenbosch received 150 packets of sanitary towels. The CWDM\u2019s Rural and Social Development Unit will visit 34 schools and distribute 5 100 packets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
