‘n Leer van 20\u2009m lank is voorverlede Donderdag (7\u2009Mei) teen die palmbome by die Universiteit Stellenbosch se teologiese fakulteit opgestel om ou en dooie takke te verwyder. Die palmboom word gesien as ‘n simbool van geregtigheid, waarskynlik na aanleiding van Psalm 92, vers 13: “Die regverdiges sal sterk wees soos palmbome, soos ho\u00eb seders op die Libanon” (1983-vertaling).
