{"id":76166,"date":"2025-04-16T18:44:25","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T16:44:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/eikestadnuus\/?p=76166"},"modified":"2025-04-16T18:50:27","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T16:50:27","slug":"geen-verdere-werk-aan-botmaskop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/eikestadnuus\/geen-verdere-werk-aan-botmaskop\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Geen verdere werk aan Botmaskop&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Die stryd teen die ontwikkeling van \u2019n luukse woonbuurt teen die hange van Botmaskop het Woensdag (16 April) \u2019n hupstoot ontvang nadat die Kaapse hooggeregshof enige verdere konstruksiewerk tot halt geroep het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dit uitspraak kom nadat die Stellenbosch-belangegroep (SBG) verlede November \u2019n aansoek teen onder meer die Stellenbosch-munisipaliteit, die Botmaskop-huiseienaarsvereniging en die ontwikkelaars van die projek Botmaskop Fynbos-landgoed, gebring het. Die belangegroep het aansoek gedoen vir \u2019n tussentydse interdik om die residensi\u00eble ontwikkeling met 77 eenhede vir eers stop te sit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die SBG meen die natuurskoon van Botmaskop waar die ontwikkeling gele\u00eb is, wat aan \u2019n gedeelte van die berg grens wat onder stappers en fietsryers gewild is en waar die plaaslike plantkundige dr. Brian du Preez onlangs \u2019n bedreigde spesie van die Moraea-plantfamilie ontdek het, sal in die slag bly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die SBG voer aan die omgewingsmagtiging wat in 2021 deur die provinsiale departement van plaaslike regering, omgewingsake en ontwikkelingsbeplanning goedgekeur is, is nie geldig vir die huidige projek nie. Hulle meen ook die skade wat verder aan die berg weens die ontwikkeling aangerig sal word, sal \u201ckatastrofiese gevolge\u201d h\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die saak is in Februarie\u00a0deur regter Melanie Holderness\u00a0aangehoor, wat haar uitspraak oor die saak voorbehou het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holderness het Woensdag ges\u00ea die hof het genoegsame bewyse onder o\u00eb gehad om die tydelike interdik teen die Botmaskop Fynbos-landgoed toe te staan. Geen verdere bouwerk of ander werk mag nou deur die ontwikkelaar gedoen word nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a
