Die US-raad het gister \u2018n taalplan wat deur die rektor se bestuurspan voorgestel is, verwerp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
James de Villiers, hoof van kommunikasie by die SR, s\u00ea hulle is bang die raad se mosie impliseer dat verandering nie by die US gaan plaasvind nie en studente uiteindelik steeds van die kampus uitgesluit gaan word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDie SR herbevestig ons versoek vir parallel-medium onderrig by Universiteit Stellenbosch met Engels as die prim\u00eare medium van kommunikasie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHierdie versoek word ondersteun deur alle formele verteenwoordigende strukture (die primkomitee, die Akademiese Belangeraad, die Tygerberg SR en die SR) asook die universiteit se senaat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOns is bekommerd dat die raad nie erkenning gee aan die sentimente van personeel en studente wat direk deur taalimplimentering by die instelling geraak word nie.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
