\u201cEk en my bestuur het kennis geneem van die trauma wat die insident veroorsaak het by veral die twee vrouestudente en hul ouers, maar ook ander studente en personeel. Hieroor het ek en my bestuur ons spyt uitgespreek,\u201d s\u00ea De Villiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die US se eenheid vir gelykwaardigheid het Donderdag 11 Februarie die universiteit aanbeveel om Jo-Anne Cloete en Poekie Briedenhann se tydelike skorsing op te hef.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Briedenhann is ook in haar posisie as mentor heraangestel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sedert foto\u2019s wat wys die studente se gesigte was pers geverf, was daar \u2018n hewige reaksie vanuit verskeie oorde oor die universiteit se optrede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOns het kennis geneem van die wye reaksie in die media, op sosiale media en van ? groot hoeveelheid mense wat aan die universiteit geskryf het in verband met aantygings wat gemaak word teen die instelling se manier van hantering van die kwessie,\u201d s\u00ea De Villiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs universiteit is ons konsekwent daartoe verbind om regverdig, effektief en deursigtig op te tree in ooreenstemming met die Universiteit se waardes van uitnemendheid, innovasie, medeverantwoordbaarheid, empatie en diensbare leierskap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSelf-evaluasie en kritiese analise vorm deel van die akademiese etos van die Universiteit en ons sal in oorstemming hiermee voortgaan om die mees konstruktiewe proses te vind om gebeure soos di\u00e9 te hanteer. \u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
