The much-anticipated provincial and national results of the 2018 National Senior Certificate (NSC) are expected to be announced by Minister Angie Motshekga on Thursday 3 January 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Schools and candidates in the Western Cape will then receive their results on Friday 4 January 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Schools collect their results from district offices on the morning of the release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They are then asked to analyse the results and check for any apparent errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Matric candidates will be able to collect their National Senior Certificate results an hour earlier in the Western Cape on Friday 4 January 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Candidates may collect their results at their school from 11:00 instead of 12:00 noon as originally planned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has decided to release the results an hour earlier to make it easier for Muslim candidates to attend Friday prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The individual candidate results will then be available on the WCED website from 14:00 on Friday 4 January 2019 \u2013 https:\/\/wcedonline.westerncape.gov.za \u2013 Candidates will have to enter their examination number and ID number in order to view their individual results on the WCED website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Result queries should be submitted for investigation within 30 days after the release of the results. All queries may be submitted to ExamResults@westerncape.gov.za<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2018 NSC results will be published in the press on Saturday 5 January 2019 at 06:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many parents and learners question why, in the Western Cape, learners have to wait until 12:00 (11:00 this year) the following day to receive their results. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is done for a number of reasons which include giving principals the opportunity to examine their results and to pick up any errors that may have occurred or to alert the WCED regarding a candidate that may be disappointed by their results and require counselling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The much-anticipated NSC Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday 10 January 2019 at Leeuwenhof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The majority of candidates in the Western Cape will write their final exam on Monday 26 November \u2013 English Paper 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Candidates are required to be available until 6 December for any eventuality \u2013 such as the need to rewrite a paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
