Cloetesville High School recently launched an initiative aimed at supporting its 2019 matric learners, and possibly setting a future precedent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Cloetesville community is challenged with unemployment, and many of the parents are struggling to make a financial contribution towards their children\u2019s education,\u201d according to the school\u2019s principal, Dorian Meyer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative, \u201cSupport a Matric Child\u201d, invites corporates, local businesses and individuals to contribute to the scholar sponsorship to raise sufficient funds for the learners\u2019 fees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis will release the stress and financial burden on these learners and their parents, and allow the learners to focus on their preparation during their final school year and exams,\u201d Meyer said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are thankful to Mediclinic SA for its support, and the school management is positive that with support from the broader Stellenbosch community we can make this a reality, and instil hope in learners\u2019 hearts and encourage them to dream about a better future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
