Trail runners who have entered the 2022 Thirsti AfricanX Trailrun, which is set to be held in the Overberg next month, are invited to participate in a fun-filled training run at Constantia Nek this Sunday (6 February)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The training run is in preparation for South Africa\u2019s premium three-day stage to be held from Saturday 19 to Monday 21 March. The Constantia Nek run is the second training run presented by event organisers Stillwater Sports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe December training run was so well supported that we decided to host three more in the build up to event day,\u201d said Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and event founder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the second run events will be held in Gauteng (February) and Grabouw in early March. Meyer said all training runs are open to 2022 Thirsti AfricanX Trailrunners at no cost. This weekend\u2019s training run comprises a 17,5 km route \u2013 a 7 km road section before runners embark on a magnificent single track. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will be some easy climbs to the tar road on Vlakkenberg through Bokkemans Saddle up Vlakkenberg Peak and back to Constantia Nek. The run starts at 06:30 and runners, who will meet in the parking area at Constantia Nek, are advised to arrive early to secure parking. Also take along all equipment needed to take on this running distance like trail shoes, a cap, hydration pack with nutrition and hydration for at least three hours, medical kit, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
