Kanonkop, wat internasionaal erken word as Suid-Afrika se voorste rooiwynlandgoed, het Laibach aangekoop \u2013 \u2019n organiese wynplaas aangrensend aan Kanonkop in die Simonsberg-wyk van Stellenbosch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Laibach is sedert 1994 in die besit van die Duitse Laibach-familie wat die landgoed uitgebou het tot \u2019n toonaangewende Kaapse wynplaas, wat veral bekend is vir organiese produksie van hul 40 ha prima Simonsberg-terroir. Die bedrag wat Kanonkop vir Laibach betaal het, is nie bekend gemaak nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Volgens Johann Krige, mede-eienaar van Kanonkop saam met sy broer Paul, sal die aankoop van Laibach vir Kanonkop in staat stel om toekomstige waarde te ontsluit in hul wynondernemings. \u201cAs ons buurplaas deel Laibach en Kanonkop \u2019n soortgelyke terroir, met verweerde granietgrond en \u2019n Mediterreense klimaat,\u201d s\u00ea Krige. \u201cSimonsberg is gesogte eiendom vir wingerdbou en wynmaak, en as \u2019n familiewynbesigheid kon Kanonkop nie so \u2019n geleentheid laat verbygaan om \u2019n aangrensende eiendom soos Laibach te bekom nie.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kanonkop, wat 100 ha onder wingerd het, is beroemd vir sy pinotage- en cabernet sauvignon-landgoedwyne, asook vir die Paul Sauer rooi Bordeaux-versnit wat genoem is na die plaas se stigtersvader en die Kriges se oupa. Naas hierdie landgoedwyne produseer Kanonkop ook die Kadette-reeks wat gemaak word van geselekteerde druiwe van uitsoek Stellenbosch-wingerde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Laibach het \u2019n kelder en verskeie ander geboue insluitend gaste-akkommodasie asook organies verboude wingerde. Die Laibach-bestuurspan van Michael en An\u00e9l Malherbe, wynmaker Francois van Zyl en alle werknemers sal op die landgoed aanbly. Die verkoper, dr. Petra Laibach-K\u00fchner, wat aftree, verwelkom die aankoop deur Kanonkop, wat haar voorkeur-koper was. \u201cEk is geweldig trots op wat my span geskep het by Laibach, enersyds as \u2019n tuiste in een van die w\u00eareld se groot wynstreke, maar ook as \u2019n toonaangewende en baanbrekende organiese wynhandelsmerk,\u201d s\u00ea Laibach-K\u00fchner. \u201cEk verlaat hierdie plaas met \u2019n swaar hart, maar in die wete dat dit nou in die goeie hande is van die Krige-familie wat Kanonkop ontwikkel het tot een van die werklik uitstaande wynplase.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
