Two neighbours from Kayamandi recently decided to take the step of getting vaccinated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After months of contemplating the move, Wellington Kulati (40) not only took the step to get vaccinated, but also took his neighbour along who had put it off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI use chronic medication and was not sure if I could take the vaccine on top of my usual medication,\u201d he explained. Kulati hadn\u2019t had Covid-19, but was anxious about what would happen if he had. \u201cThat is why I waited, and not because of the stories people had spread about the vaccine. I just was not sure, because of my chronic medication.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When his employer encouraged staff to be vaccinated he decided to speak to his health worker. Once it was cleared, he made his way to Kayamandi Corridor, where Western Cape Health\u2019s outreach team had a station set up, but not without ensuring his unvaxxed neighbour came too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mzoxolo Bunto said he simply had not made the effort, but his friend\u2019s encouragement to accompany him was the right trigger. The two will get their second dose of Pfizer in two months\u2019 time and after six months their booster. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
