Die studente het hul steun aan Oekra\u00efne gewys nadat Rusland verlede week oorlog teen di\u00e9 land verklaar het. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nina Hugo van die Verenigde Nasies Vereniging van Suid-Afrika (Unasa) s\u00ea hulle het die betoging gere\u00ebl om solidariteit aan die Oekra\u00efense studente te wys en dat hulle teen die oorlog is. \u201cOns doen dit omdat ons land nog nie gedoen het wat hy moes om die Russiese gedrag te verwerp nie. As \u2019n land wat al deur soveel is en self onderdrukking ervaar het moet dit verwerp word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOns sal alles in ons mag doen om dinge makliker vir die Oekra\u00efense studente te maak,\u201d s\u00ea Hugo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHierdie is nie net \u2019n oorlog teen mense nie, dis \u2019n oorlog teen vryheid en mense se reg om te kies wie hulle moet lei. Ons steun Oekra\u00efne en is teen die besluit wat Vladimir Putin geneem het,\u201d het \u2019n Stellenbosse student, Daniel Prins, ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWat tans in Ki\u00ebf gebeur, is \u2019n bewys van imperialisme wat sedert die dae van kolonialisme voortgaan deur swart inheemse mense te onderdruk soos wat ook in Palestina, Jemen, Libanon en ander lande gebeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHierdie betoging is \u2019n emosionele ervaring omdat hier so baie Oekra\u00efense studente op ons kampus is. Ons voel kwesbaar. Dit het ook lig gewerp op wat in ander lande soos Palestina gebeur. Ons staan saam teen oorlog,\u201d het nog \u2019n US-student, Kate Hepplestone, ges\u00ea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
