There is a buzz of excitement at a trusted, decades-old hardware and building-supply store in Stellenbosch with the launch of a brand-new name for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This Saturday (2 April), Timbercity Stellenbosch will be relaunched as TimBuild Stellenbosch, with plenty of fun activities and opening specials planned for this weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the new name the store will continue delivering the same great service by the same friendly staff at the same location, along with much more top-of-the-range products and all you need for your DIY and Building Projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What\u2019s more, the well-known and reliable store remains in the same ownership hands as before, with Chris Otto, Stuart Oliver and Liezl le Roux still at the helm of operations. The partners have owned the enterprise since 2007. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the new name they will be growing and transforming the service and operations into a one-stop-shop that caters for customers\u2019 DIY and construction needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Located in Plankenberg, at 22 Planken Street, Stellenbosch, the store was established in 1987 by Percy Oliver, who sold it to his children Stuart and Liezl in 2007, and they took it over. Together, they have revamped and amped-up the store\u2019s product offerings and service, and have introduced their unique range of Smart DIY pre-assembled cupboards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe name change to TimBuild was necessary after we were informed of the phasing out of the Timbercity franchises countrywide which is really a sad moment for us,\u201d Stuart explained, \u201cfor Timbercity has been in our blood since we were children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhile the name will change, we will still be offering our loyal and new customers the same great service as before. We have always strived to run the business according to a family-orientated ethos \u2013 and that will not change. We pride ourselves on getting to know our customers on a one-on-one basis, so that we are able to greet them by their names when they enter through our doors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chris, who has always been a hands-on store owner, will continue in this role and be on site to attend to the needs of clients, along with the knowledgeable and friendly staff, for which the store has become known throughout the Stellenbosch area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He says the owners feel the name TimBuild truly speaks to the store\u2019s current client base. The name change has also allowed the owners to re-look at the store\u2019s product offerings, exposing and introducing TimBuild to a new market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will offer a broader spectrum of timber, board, cutting service, sand, cement, plywood, building materials, paint and much more,\u201d Chris pointed out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will have a larger offering, which shows we truly understand the needs of our clients. As the brand and store grows, we will adapt according to their needs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In celebration of the TimBuild launch, locals are invited to pop in at the store this Saturday to have a look around and buy all your DIY and construction goods. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event will include live demonstrations by TimBuild\u2019s bigger product suppliers, showcasing of products, and fun activities and goodies, including popcorn and slushies, for the little ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
