From blushers to dyeballs and laughing gyms to deceivers and more are in store when Delheim Estate in Stellenbosch holds its wild mushroom forage on Thursday 16 June. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Re-emerging from the dark like the delicious forest treats are these edible fungi, toadstools, for which expert-tutored excursions will be led by the estate\u2019s Nora Thiel, who was raised in a home that regularly foraged for mushrooms, and author and specialist Gary Goldman. These master mycophiles are adept in the art of finding the fungi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participating groups are limited to just 30 people, so an intimate, first-hand experience is assured. Each ticket, at R650 per person, includes a presentation about foraging and mushroom varieties, a forage in the Delheim forest and a three-course, mushroom-inspired lunch served with wines from the estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Apart from the quality tuition and fun experience, the Delheim Wild Mushroom Forage is supremely popular, for it is here that the toadstools thrive undisturbed, weaving their threads beneath the forest floor, transforming organic matter into healthy soil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Booking is essential via email on marketing@delheim.com and participants are asked to take a basket, pocket knife, walking boots and rain jacket. No under-18s will be allowed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
