Die besoek van die groep van sowat 16 jongmense van die Andrew Young Sentrum vir W\u00eareldwye Leierskap (AYCGL) van Morehouse Kollege in Atlanta, Georgia, VSA, was deel van die Oprah Winfrey Scholars Program (OWSP). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die besoekers het tyd met die kleuters deurgebring en aktiwiteite met hulle gedoen en sop uitgedeel, asook klaskamers geverf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Jann Adams Hoof van die OWSP en AYCGL s\u00ea hierdie besoek was sodat die studente voorbeelde en maatskaplike geregtigheid in Suid-Afrika kan ervaar en om uit ander gemeenskappe te leer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHierdie besoek het baie vir ons kinders beteken. Dit was hul eerste besoek en eerste kennismaking, so ons verhouding is nog in die beginstadium, maar ons weet ons gaan \u2019n lang pad stap,\u201d s\u00ea Juanita Jacobs, hoof van Abbasorg. Jacobs s\u00ea die groep se besoek het weer die lig op die organisasie se behoeftes gewerp. \u201cVan ons grootste behoeftes is die aankoop van kos vir kleuters vir twee gebalanseerde maaltye per dag, met snoepgoed of vrugte as ons dit op die dag het. Die groot fotostaatmasjien en papier is ook een van ons grootste uitdagings omdat ons kinders \u2019n leerprogram aanbied van 08:00 tot 14:00 elke dag,\u201d voeg sy by. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jacobs s\u00ea hulle het ook behoefte aan geld om kleuters op opvoedkundige uitstappies te neem. \u201cOns begroting is baie klein so kos en dag tot dag aktiwiteite kry prioriteit.
