A successful school holiday programme run by the e\u2019Bosch Heritage Project and other role-players, titled the Keep Them Safe and Thriving, ended with a Winter Wonderland Showcase hosted at the Stellenbosch Town Hall on the 22 July, which featured showcases some enchanting performances by the youngsters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
More than 500 learners, youth and facilitators from the 14 dorpies<\/i> of Stellenbosch attended the event. The programme featured drama, music and movement and arts and crafts from participants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe youth were telling their stories through the arts, reflecting the struggles the youth find themselves grappling with in this day and age,\u201d Carol Lakay of e\u2019Bosch pointed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll the collaborators, including broad sectors of business, churches, community development, the municipality and university, are grateful the programme proceeded without any major incident. The relationships and bonds formed in this event will form the fabric of future initiatives to bridge the generation gap in greater Stellenbosch.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said the e\u2019Bosch Heritage Project provides a platform for youth to exercise, celebrate and grow their talents, and they are coached by educators, adjudicators and arts role-players, including those in the Music industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
MC Lessie from Lanquedoc scooped the top price of the evening by winning a recording deal with Sunrise Records, who will record, mix, master and license his music to have it played on provincial and national radio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
