Paul Roos Gymnasium (PRG) is joining in on the Garden Town celebrations in Stellenbosch in October, hosting the AFGRI Stellenbosch Spring Fair at Mark\u00f6tter Sports Complex on Saturday 22 October.<\/p>\n

Garden Town is hosted by Visit Stellenbosch throughout October, with the aim to celebrate the City of Oaks and surrounding communities\u2019 most beautiful public and private gardens.<\/p>\n

The AFGRI Stellenbosch Spring Fair is a one-day market catering for those with a love of and interest in delicacies within the culinary, wine and craft-drink sectors, decorative arts, furniture, beautiful home and garden necessities and must-haves.<\/p>\n

\n

There will be top-class wines from the Paul Roos Wine Emporium, food prepared by local restaurateurs, deli owners and popular-by-demand food-truck chefs, alcoholic and non-alcoholic food-and-drink pairings, the C2M Kiddies Garden and much more.<\/p>\n

\n

Besides the fair, PRG is working with IS Art Gallery in presenting visitors to the ABSA-PRG Art Garden and Coffee Shop, where the works of local sculptors, installation and land artists will be exhibited in a carefully curated space at Mark\u00f6tter. The Rupert Museum is supporting an outreach art programme where the creative works of youths will be incorporated as decorative art in the ABSA-PRG Coffee Shop.<\/p>\n

\n

Limited tickets will be sold for the unveiling of the ABSA-PRG Art Garden on Friday 21 October. Patrons at the AFRGI Stellenbosch Spring Fair will enjoy exclusive access to the ABSA-PRG Art Garden the next. The exhibition and coffee shop will be open to the public, free of charge from Sunday 23 to Sunday 30 October.<\/p>\n

\n

In addition, PRG will host other special events, workshops and talks from Friday 21 to Saturday 29 October, including AFGRI\u2019s Koppie Tee Fontein,<\/em> hosted by entertainer Jak de Priester and Carmen Niehaus from Carmi\u00e9n Rooibos Tea. The event will focus on the uses and health benefits of tea while offering tea tastings and recipes sharing too.<\/p>\n

\n

This is followed by a fun family day, with John Deere tractors and implements showcased and AFGRI presenting informal, fun talks on the youth and the future of sustainable farming in South Africa.<\/p>\n

\n

C2M Chartered Accountants will also co-host a series of themed special sessions\u2009\u2013\u2009 A High Tea with Dr Darren Green<\/em>: The Green light to multi-dimensional wellness<\/em>; The Art of Bonsai: A demonstration by Boland Bonsai Kai<\/em>; sales by Bonsai Tree; Pilgrimage, Nature and Mental Health: an evening with travellers and writers Erns Gr\u00fcndling and Lindie Stander<\/em>; Fermenting with Kombukarious Kombucha: Making kimchi (including a gin and kombucha tasting by Muti Gin)<\/em>; Eco-printing: The fascinating practice of eco-printing, from start to finish, designing and producing your own cotton scarf with Natasha Minyon Sale<\/em>.<\/p>\n

All proceeds of the event will go to the Sponsor-a-Paul-Rooser Fund, aimed at providing learners from families experiencing financial difficulties with access to a top-quality educational and life preparing experience.<\/p>\n
